A small business marketing strategy should be well thought out. 

Your marketing plan identifies everything within the marketing mix and there are a lot of activities with your marketing plan.

In this section we are going to look at the promotional marketing strategy within your marketing plan. 

This is just one of the activities within marketing.

Promotion consists of:

• Copywriting

• Online Advertising

• Offline Advertising

• Marketing Pieces (i.e. website, promotional CDs, DVDs etc)

Remember, that marketing and sales are different activities within marketing, however they do go hand in hand. 

Marketing and marketing strategies can be a very complex subject and even hard to understand.  Large businesses and corporations go into great detail when planning their marketing.

However, we are only small business owners, many of us even home-based, so we need a simple and uncomplicated small business marketing strategy that we can understand.

So this is what I have come up with

I am going to emphasise on the promotional aspect of marketing here, but you have to cover all the other activities of a marketing plan to succeed.
